Bappa, you come and go,
And you teach us the valuable lessons of the Bhagavad Gita, of life.
In Chapter 2, Verse 14, Lord Shri Krishna said:
"मात्रास्पर्शास्तु कौन्तेय शीतोष्णसुखदु:खदा: |
आगमापायिनोऽनित्यास्तांस्तितिक्षस्व भारत || 14||"
Meaning: O son of Kunti, the contact between the senses and the sense objects gives rise to fleeting perceptions of happiness and distress. These are non-permanent, coming and going like winter and summer seasons. O descendent of Bharat, one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.
This verse has profoundly transformed my life.
Nearly seven years ago, at 4 am, I was studying this verse when a miraculous incident occurred, which I couldn't explain scientifically. The thought came to my mind that I wanted to listen to the verse, which was recorded on another mobile. I had the recording of this verse by my Geeta teacher, Anaghatai, on my mobile phone, placed 10 feet away. Out of nowhere, the audio started playing automatically, precisely from this verse that I wanted to listen to. I was astounded. My first thought was, "Is there a ghost here?" At that time, I didn't believe in God but believed in ghosts. It's ironic how negative the mind can be! And so began my quest for understanding this experience.
That evening in class, I shared this incident with Anagha tai and asked for the meaning and reason behind it. She shared wise words that hold profound meaning if understood by all: "अग, मंजू, अनुभव घ्यायचे आणि पुढे जाययाचे, खूप कारणांमध्ये जाययाचे नाही" (English translation: Hey Manju, take the experience and move forward, don't get caught up in the reasons).
Being a science student, a professor, and a HOD with an inflated ego, how could I believe this? But I had no choice when I had experienced this miracle. Then, numerous miracles came my way, and God unlocked my intellect to perceive and understand Him.
I am immensely grateful, and words cannot express the depth of my feelings.
I share my real-life story here for my friends and those who may be navigating the same boat I was in seven years ago. For those who still have a chance to choose a Satvik life and transcend the Kaliyug to enter the Satiyug.
