Want to Double Your Joy… Then*

ree

As children, many stories imprinted a belief upon our minds:

“One day, the ideal partner will arrive, and then we will be happy.”

But this is a misconception. For a person who is not happy within themselves only becomes a burden when they come close to another.

Two empty people — that is, sad, unfulfilled individuals — when they meet, their emptiness only increases. Misery doubles.

But when two individuals who are inwardly full, overflowing with joy, come together, their joy blossoms and multiplies.

A relationship is not built on need, but on sharing.

If joy is already brimming within me, only then can I share it with another.

Otherwise, I am only caught in expectations — and expectations turn the bond into a burden.

*First Share, Then Reap*

Sadhguru says — “Share joy, experience joy.”

Its true meaning is that giving is the very beginning of receiving.

Respected Prahlad Dada adds —

“The very moment you even think of giving, arrangements for receiving are made.”

This is true even in the material world.

When we merely think of helping a person or an institution, nature itself begins to provide the resources, means, and opportunities.

And when it comes to joy, it is even simpler.

Because to give a material object, you must first acquire it.

But joy is already within us.

It doesn’t have to be acquired,

it only has to be shared.

*We Don’t Have Joy; Then How Can We Share It?*

People often ask — “We don’t have joy ourselves, then how can we share it?”

Sadhguru responds —

“This itself is your ignorance.

You are not beggars of joy.

You are joy itself.

You have only forgotten this truth.”

Saint Tukaram Maharaj declares —

“In the ocean of joy are waves of joy;

the very limbs are of joy itself…”

We are not separate from joy. We are already immersed in its ocean.

What is missing is only remembrance.

The work of the Sadguru is to awaken this memory —

“I have come to remind you of the forgotten joy that you already are.”

*The Mathematics of Joy*

In the material world, whenever something is shared, the remainder decreases.

For example, out of 4 objects, if 2 are given away, only 2 remain — 4 - 2 = 2.

But the mathematics of joy is entirely different.

When joy is shared, it does not diminish.

Instead, it grows.

It becomes 4 + 4 = 8, or even 4 × 2 = 8.

When you understand this, you realize —

Life itself is a reservoir of joy.

The more you share, the more abundantly it overflows.

*From Demanding to Sharing*

The secret of life is simple —

First share, then reap.

Joy can never be begged for.

It only grows when shared.

The very thought of giving sets nature into motion to make arrangements.

And in the case of joy, it is even easier —

because it already exists within;

all that is needed is to let it flow.

*Sadhguru’s formula should become our life’s guiding principle*—

“Share joy — only then can you truly experience joy.

Because in sharing joy, its fragrance first fills your own hands.”

*The Message of Nature*

It is now the season of Shravan and Chaturmas —

a time of festivals, celebrations, and nature in full bloom.

Nature is showering its abundance everywhere,

spreading joy with no reserve.

So too must we learn from nature:

Let us rain down joy in abundance,

so that both our lives and the lives of others may flourish.

And together let us sing:

🌸 Joy, joy everywhere,

here, there, all around us! 🌸

Not just in Chaturmas, but let every day, and every person we meet, be filled with joy.

On this auspicious occasion of Lord Ganesha’s arrival,

Heartfelt greetings to all for a joyous Ganesh Festival!
