“Money! Money! And money!”

This seems to have become the catchphrase of our times.

A person’s identity, respect, and prestige are now measured by money. The false notion that “money means dignity, money means honor” has taken deep root in society.

In truth, money is not evil. It is indeed essential for survival.

What is harmful is the greed for money.

We neglect life in the pursuit of wealth, and then spend the same money to regain what was lost—

isn’t this the real illusion (maya)?

As Sadguru Vamanrao Pai says:

*One must earn enough money to live life.*

*But to know how much is enough, wisdom is required.*

*And to gain that wisdom, one must master the art of living.*

Do you remember the song we all sang as children?

“Come, Comr O rain, I’ll give you money…

But money proved false, the rain came in abundance…”

Back then, it felt like just a simple rhyme.

But in reality, it carries a profound truth.

Rain cannot be summoned with money.

In the same way, the essential forces of nature, and the true joy of life, cannot be bought with wealth.

Abundance comes not from money, but from nature, relationships, inner peace, and the art of living.

*Stress: Where Does It Truly Come From?*

Stress is not the result of work or circumstances.

It is the result of not being able to manage oneself.

We often say, “I am stressed because I have too much work,”

or, “I am restless because I have no work at all.”

But stress does not arise from the outside world—it is born within.

When the body is unsettled, thoughts are chaotic, emotions are unstable, the mind-chemistry is disturbed, and energy management fails—stress takes birth. Stress, therefore, is not a product of circumstances but a reflection of our inability to manage ourselves. Self-management is nothing but the art of living.

Viktor Frankl reminds us: *Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the freedom to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances.*

This is the real key to a stress-free life.

*Money: The Wisdom of Simplicity*

Money is necessary to live, but becoming a slave to it is dangerous.

Many lose their lifelong savings by taking reckless risks driven by greed. Promises of “huge returns with little risk” always turn out to be deceptive.

We must embrace the wisdom of simplicity.

Keep your earnings safe, avoid unnecessary risks, and treat money as a tool—not the ultimate goal. *The wisdom of money forms one important pillar of the art of living.*

*Health: The True Wealth*

What is the use of wealth if health is lost?

That is why along with earning, one must care for health.

Simple practices like daily exercise, walking, or swimming bring immense benefits in the long run. Consulting doctors regularly and not neglecting health check-ups is essential. *A simple and joyful lifestyle naturally ensures good health.*

Running behind miracle cures or fad diets only adds confusion. In truth, *health itself is the greatest wealth.*

*Relationships: Time Is More Precious Than Money*

As inheritance, children do not only want money—

they want your time, your presence, and your love.

An evening spent with children, playful moments with grandchildren—these are far more valuable than any bank balance. Similarly, the elders at home do not want your money; what they long for is your companionship and a few words of warmth.

Holding on to old grudges or insults only wastes life’s beautiful moments. When we open the doors of forgiveness and dialogue, relationships bloom again.

As Viktor Frankl observed: *The meaning of life is found in love, in work, and in the courage to face suffering positively.*

Preserving relationships is, in fact, the true art of living.

*Life’s True Purpose*

Retirement is not an end of activity, but the opening of new opportunities.

Learning new things, adapting to technology, engaging in service, mentoring, writing, or nurturing hobbies—all these give fresh meaning to life.

To keep learning and to keep sharing knowledge is to discover life’s real purpose. As Frankl wrote: *Man’s main concern is not to gain pleasure or to avoid pain but rather to see a meaning in his life.*

Every single day brings us a new chance to learn, to grow, and to contribute.

*Perspective and Optimism*

Yes, the world is changing and challenges are real.

But history teaches us that crises are temporary while progress is permanent.

There have been wars, recessions, and epidemics—yet humanity has always risen again.

The experience, patience, and perspective of elders are the greatest assets for the younger generation. Your wisdom is still society’s wealth. That is why it is important not to drown in negativity but to cultivate optimism.

Yes—

* money is necessary, but greed is not.

* Work is necessary, but stress is not.

* Preserve your relationships, nurture your health, and give life true meaning.

🌿*Earn to live joyfully*

*not to ruin life under stress.*
