We all seek success…
All of us desire success in life —
whether in academics, career, relationships, or spiritual practice.
And while we make sincere efforts, a common question often haunts us:
* I’m trying so hard,
yet nothing is
working…
* when will I finally
succeed?”
It’s a question that echoes in many hearts.
But more often than not, we never pause to reflect —
what exactly is “success”?
And more importantly — where does it truly come from?
*Most people see success as a moment*
a reward, a recognition, a goal achieved.
But in truth, success isn’t an event —
it’s a process.
And *the real key to that process is consistency.
*The Bamboo and the Fern – A Story That Speaks Volumes*
Once, a man who was disheartened and exhausted by repeated failures went to a sage in the forest.
“I’ve worked hard for years,” he said, “but nothing seems to be happening. I feel like giving up.”
The sage smiled gently and said:
“I once planted two seeds — a fern and a bamboo.
The fern sprouted quickly and blossomed beautifully.
But the bamboo? Nothing happened.
One year passed… then two… then three… and still no sign of growth.
But I kept watering it — every single day.
In the fifth year, suddenly, a tiny shoot broke through the surface.
And in just a few months, it grew 60 feet tall!”
The sage continued:
“During those five years, the bamboo wasn’t doing nothing.
It was growing roots.
Strengthening itself underground.
Preparing to support something magnificent.”
And then he said something truly profound:
*That’s how life works too.*
When you see no results, it doesn’t mean your efforts are wasted.
May be your roots are still growing.
Just don’t stop.”
*The Message of the Gita*–
Do Your Work, Don’t Chase the Outcome
In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna tells Arjuna:
*Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana*
(You have the right to perform your duty, but not to the fruits of action.)
This one verse holds the essence of sustainable success.
We often think: “I did the work, so I should get the result.”
But Krishna teaches us — Focus on the action. Let go of the anxiety about outcome.
Because action always brings a reaction —
but when, how, and in what form it arrives… is not ours to decide.
Understanding this truth brings peace.
It shifts our focus to what is within our control —
effort, attention, and consistency.
*The Wisdom of ज्ञानेश्वरी –*
*The Power of Steady Practice*
Sant Dnyaneshwar writes in his Haripath:
*Nitya Nema Nami To Prani Durlabh*
*Lakshmi Vallabh Tayajavli*
(The one who remembers the Lord consistently is rare; the Lord himself dwells near him.)
The person who practices daily, steadily, without fail —
is rare and precious.
Where there is consistency, the divine follows.
And where the divine dwells, prosperity — in all its forms — follows naturally.
*This isn’t just spiritual —*
it is a universal truth for life.
*Everyday Echoes of This Truth:*
• A student who
studies daily may
not see instant
improvement —
but over time, his
clarity, confidence,
and depth of
understanding
grow.
• A singer practices
scales every
morning —
no one hears the
struggle. But one
day, the notes align
effortlessly.
* In relationships too
consistent
communication,
empathy, and effort
create lasting
bonds.
Whatever the area —
Consistency is the invisible seed from which success eventually blooms.
*So… Where Does Success Actually Come From?*
Think about the bamboo.
It didn’t grow for five years — yet it wasn’t idle.
It was preparing, silently, patiently.
We often see the flower,
but forget the roots.
We admire success —
like a majestic tree.
But we forget the ecosystem behind it.
Just as nature is the visible face of the earth’s environment,
success is the visible result of an inner environment.
*That inner environment includes —*
knowledge, skill, discipline, patience, and above all… consistency.
Success is the bloom,
but its real story lies underground — in the roots we’ve nourished unseen.
So when you feel stuck, disheartened, or restless —
remind yourself:
“Maybe I’m still growing roots”
*The Final Thought – One That Stays With You…*
Success is not a flash of fortune.
It is the quiet outcome of steady, unseen preparation.
*Grow like the bamboo…*
*Create the right environment…*
*And don’t stop until your roots rise to bloom.*
