Gan Gan Ganat bote* *Beyond Measurement*

ree

*Gan Gan Ganat Bote…*

This simple yet profound utterance of Saint Gajanan Maharaj holds a deep secret of life.

It means: In every group, in every particle, in every being — the Divine seed is hidden.

A mother’s tear of love,

the reassuring support of a friend’s shoulder,

the innocence of a child’s laughter,

and even the smile of a stranger…

These are all divine seeds.

They cannot be measured, yet they awaken and blossom life within us.

A house, money, degrees, a car — all these can be counted.

But those true seeds of life?

They cannot be counted. And yet, the real essence of life lies only in them.

That is why Maharaj declared:

*गण गण गणात बोते*—

“In everyone dwells the same God,

in everyone resides the same Divinity.

Be conscious enough to see it.”

*The Arithmetic of Life*

But what do we do? We keep calculating life at every moment.

We are trapped in endless accounts:

Buy a house — thirty years of loan.

Buy a car — ten years of installments.

Finish education — fifteen years of debt repayment.

And for all this, what do we mortgage?

Not just money, but our life itself — our joy, our relationships, our mental and physical health.

It feels as though we are not buying a house or car;

rather, we are mortgaging ourselves to them.

And in this endless chase, a question lingers —

Are we truly living life, or just repaying debts?

*What Can Be Counted, What Cannot*

A salary slip can be counted,

the digits in a bank account can be counted.

But can you measure—

the fragrance of hot rice served by your mother?

the deep satisfaction of a loving hug from a friend?

the innocence glowing in a child’s smile?

the moist tenderness in the eyes of a loved one?

No!

And yet, these are the very things

that nurture life,

that give it meaning,

that make it blossom

*The Prison of Likes and Dislikes*

We were taught:

“Do what you like — that is freedom.”

But does life always move according to our likes?

No.

And that is why we constantly complain.

True freedom is not about fulfilling every like.

True freedom is:

To joyfully accept and do what is needed, whatever comes your way.

Work, yes work —

and fall in love with your work.

There lies sweetness, simplicity,

and the joy of living.

🌟 The real difference between mere existence and true life is awareness.

Awareness means being alert and wise, every moment.

When you are aware, even a simple flower blossoming feels like a vision of God.

When you are unaware, even in a golden palace your heart feels barren.

🐍 The saint Allama Prabhu of Karnataka once said:

*You can still talk to a man bitten by a snake*

*but you cannot talk to a man bitten by the venom of wealth.*

Money must be there,

but it should never become the master of life.

It must remain a servant, never the lord.

Money is a means, not the end.

🌸 *The True Investment*

The real investment of life is not in what can be counted,

but in what cannot be counted —

love, joy, peace, awareness, devotion.

👉 Do not get trapped in endless accounts of money.

👉 It is not about rejecting money or ignoring discipline.

👉 But do not spoil life by chanting “money, money” at the cost of your joy.

✨ Sadguru Wamanrao Pai says —

*Money is indeed necessary for life.*

*Every person must earn what is essential.*

*But one must also know where to stop.*

*If you know where to stop,*

*money remains your servant.*

If you do not,

money becomes your master and destroys your life.”

🌼 *Gan Ganat Bote*

In every being lies the Divine seed.

To see it, one needs awareness.

To nurture it, one must invest in what cannot be counted.

What can be counted builds your livelihood.

What cannot be counted blossoms your life.

So the real question is:

Where are you investing?

In accounts, or in emotions?

In debts, or in love?

In money, or in awareness?

The true answer of life is only one —

*Gan Gan Ganat Bote.*
